Winter Catch Up

Up here on the prairie we've been in the teens for temperatures this past week and this morning we woke up to 5-6 inches of snow. On Wednesday we're expecting single digits and a low of -15* that night. Brr! All this weather has left Hazel and I locked up in the house most of the day so we've been trying to come up with things to keeps us busy.

This morning we bundled up and went outside to shovel snow. Sometimes I just need to get out of the house and get some fresh air and I know Hazel agrees. Here is my latest bird sighting, a Hazel bird. She loves to eat the fresh snow and it looks like today's came from the birdbath.

Here is my new nursing cover that I made from the new Amy Butler Love Collection. I used a tutorial found here. Its a super simple tutorial to follow and only takes about 45 minutes to make.

How about tea for two? I was able to get going on Christmas gifts this week. I found this Tea Set PDF pattern on Etsty and got to work. I know it'll be a perfect gift for Hazel this year.

And here is the project that I'm working on now. Its a new diaper bag that's more for mama than baby. I figure I'll be the one carrying it around so why not have a super cute bag? I got the book, "Sew, So Cute" by Mary Engelbreit  as a birthday present and found this new bag in here. I had already been looking at a very similar pattern here that you can use instead. I decided that this time around I was going to try a messenger style bag and see if it holds things in a little better than my plain open top bag.

Well, I suppose that I better get back to folding my laundry and figuring out whats for dinner so I can get back to work on the diaper bag. Hope you all have a good week and Thanksgiving.
