Simple Sundays

Its the simple things that make you're day so nice!

Bogs are a rancher gals best friend in the snow and mud. This isn't the same pattern I have but, I thought these were pretty cute. You can get short or tall, whatever your preference. I've found the taller ones are great for strolling through the snow. They're a little on the spendy side, but they're super comfy and waterproof and worth the buy. You can find them on websites like Amazon, Zappos, Shoebuy or Cabella's, and you could even check your local western store.

This is my lone Sharp-tailed Grouse that keeps coming back to visit the tree patch behind our house. I don't know where his buddies are, but I enjoy seeing him fly in and stay a while.

Whats this you're wondering? When our daughter was just starting solid foods, we made the choice to make the majority of her food. Her favorite vegetable is a sweet potato/yam so I cook a couple at 375* for 50-60 minutes, let them cool a little, then cut them up in chunks and toss them in the blender with a little water and a couple tablespoons of butter. Then I put them in these Baby Cubes and they're good in the freezer up to 6 months. You can use these with any pureed vegetable and they're also great for storing extra breast milk.

This is our daughter Hazel with one of her orange kitties that her great grandpa brought out to the ranch.

Oh, that last picture is too cute! So great that you make your own food...when I (hopefully) have a little one I definitely plan to do the same...maybe I'll be getting in touch with you for the brand of your containers. :)

Those boots are super cute, I have been wanting some Wellie-type boots, but maybe I should look into these...

I love your Grouse shot, very neat!

We made our own baby food too, its so nice to know there are other like-minded mommies out there =) I love the pic of your daughter with the kitty, reminds me of our Jimmy. He just loves our barn cats!

I love the grouse. I haven't seen any like that on our place but we have pheasants galore. And about 3 different types of hawks, golden eagles and bald eagles in the fall.

I love those bogs! I got some of the Muck Boots for a Christmas present this year- I'm gonna wear them out I think. Well maybe not since I'm in Texas for the rest of the winter, riding. Those bogs you showed are super cute!

We have a big orange cat that likes to do chores with us so I completely appreciate the last photo.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Glad we agree. I have chickens for eggs, and we do raise our own beef too. :-)
