A Game of I Spy

Can you spot the little beauty the decided to buzz in for a visit? Look Closely!

Now can you spot her a little better? My visitor is a female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird. She was just a tiny thing no bigger than my thumb!

You may not believe this, but just this morning I had been thinking about how I haven't had the chance to see one of these in a couple of years! God must have been listening. I was lucky enough to see one our first year out on the ranch. I was out working in the garden listening to some music on my headphones, when all the sudden I heard this loud buzzing sound over the music. I was thinking to myself, "Wow! That's a loud bumble bee!" And then I looked around to find this buzzing by my head. After a while she landed on my corn tassels and puffed up for a picture. Ever since then I've planted red petunias around my bird bath because hummingbirds love red flowers.

I love the pictures of the little "hummers". We've had only one this year. I have the feeder by my kitchen window. I'm sure they like the flowers better. Love you, Nanny

Great pics, once again. They stopped at our house for a little while too.
