Cheap and Easy Fix

We live in a late 90's mobile home which is surprisingly beautiful by mobile home standards. I love my home, but no matter how great some things are, there are always a few things that aren't so pretty. Well, I have some pretty cheesy glass on my upper cabinets that I have never quite been a fan of, but I just didn't think there was anything I could do about it.
It wasn't a necessity to have the glass replaced because other than the look of it, there wasn't anything wrong with it and therefore I just couldn't justify replacing them. So I've been looking for some ideas and finally I just happened to chance upon an idea in my book Romantic Home Sewing: Cottage-Style Projects to Stitch for the Home that I had pulled out for a completely different project all together.

The author used chicken wire and a large red gingham print fabric on the bottom cabinets of her bookshelf. Though it was cute, its just not my style to have chicken wire on my cabinets. So instead I opted for just plain white fabric and some navy ribbon that matches my counter tops.
All I did was cut out some foam board to fit each opening and hot-glued the fabric and ribbon on to look like one of those message board that you can put your pictures in. It was simple, easy, and it only cost me about $20-25 in materials.
